Placing a Sales Tax Exempt Order

Tax exempt entities do not have to provide any documentation for orders shipping to states that have no sales tax.

Unfortunately, at this time, we are not able to remove the taxes from an order before it ships. If your order will be shipping to a taxable state, please follow our procedures below:

1. Place your BN.com order.

2. Once all of the items included in your order have shipped, email or fax us a copy of your tax exempt certificate. Your order number must be included. If you are a student, fax us a copy of your current student ID card and class syllabus for the current semester.
Email: Taxes@bn.com.
Fax: 201-559-3883 - Attn: Tax Exempt.

3. Once your tax information is received, a refund will be issued for the taxes if the order meets the requirements for tax exemption.

Once this process has been completed, the email address used on the order will be connected to the tax exempt certificate for any future orders. Select the Tax Exempt checkbox during the Checkout process to attach your Tax Exemption to the order.

If this selection does not remove the taxes from the order, please contact taxes@bn.com with the order number, and the taxes will be refunded. The Tax Team will usually reply within 1 business day to advise either that the taxes have been refunded, or to advise of the reason that the taxes could not be refunded, along with any possible steps to rectify the situation.

Please note: Any credit/debit/gift cards or Pay Pal accounts used as payment must belong to the organizations if you would like tax exemption on your order.

Tax Exempt Orders for eBooks

If you are placing an order for an eBook that qualifies for tax exemption, send an email to taxes@bn.com with the order number once your order has been placed and completed.

Government Issued Credit Cards

Please be advised that as long as you use your Government issued credit card, you can email us your order number when it ships and we can then issue a refund for the taxes.

If you have any additional questions regarding tax exemption, please send your inquiry directly to taxes@bn.com.
